Summary: We had a great time at this property. The house was comfortable and plenty of room for the four of us. The area was perfect with nearby Lake James for fishing. The on property fishing pond was great, however a little overgrown. Interactions with the owners were simple,courteous, and efficient. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Summary: The property is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring and making fires and roasting marshmallows. Hosts were kind enough to drop off firewood when there wasn’t any.

Summary: Great secluded location, Fishing pond. Close to town for supplies and very close to Lake James. Stayed for long weekend, great time!!

Summary: This is a pleasant place to get away from everything - fish, enjoy the fire pit, plenty of family friendly movies available - but you’ll want to come fully prepared or you’ll spend your time driving more than relaxing. There is no wi-fi and basics like shampoo, soap, coffee, etc. are not stocked like we’ve seen in other VRBOs. Additionally, because of Covid they do not provide pillows or blankets, so make sure you pack those & stop at the store before you arrive. You’ll then be able to relax and enjoy.

Summary: Private setting away from it all. Beautiful property with outdoor fireplace and all amenities needed. Hosts provided great communication on how to access the property. Close to Lake James and many hiking trails.

Summary: Three siblings were visiting our father in Morganton. He was not able to accommodate all of us at his house, so we rented this farm house. We were able to spend the days and early evenings with him, and then catch up with each other each night around the fire pit. The place was perfect for us to talk around the fire and play games inside.

Summary: This was our second visit to Hawks Feather Farm and a perfect family retreat for 5 adults! Such a great find! This house is private, well kept, super comfortable, neat and clean with linens and the kitchen was well stocked! There was nothing we needed. Communication with owners was great and access super easy. We enjoy kayaking and boating on nearby Lake James and then returning to so much outdoor space to explore on this property. Space to hike, fishing time at the pond, ambiance at the firepit w/ market lights...... Our only regret is we needed more time! Look forward to our next adventure at Hawks Feather Farm!
